Maria Veronica trolled all the Brazilian media, and her own family and husband, claiming she was pregnant with 4 babies. She gave multiple interviews on TV and even got lots of baby products as donation from companies.
She was only discovered cause other woman saw one of her interviews and noticed she was using her ultrasound images. After that the obstetrician who treated Maria said he never saw any convincing evidence that she was even pregnant – let alone pregnant with quadruplets. The woman was charged but was absolved alleging psychological problems
