I grow carnivorous plants as a hobby and my interest in them is why I decided to become a botanist. If you're interested in them, you should really look into carnivory in plants more in depth. Venus fly traps are just the tip of the iceberg.
EDIT: There are tropical pitcher plants that have been observed as having "caught" and digested small mammals in the wild. I personally have the species in this video but it's only about two years old so it's nowhere near this size yet. (I only put warning tags because the thumbnail may startle people at first)
