I really doubt her album is going to be generic. As always, there will be a bit of everything. Good Thing certainly isn't generic and she played people an R&B bop at the listening parties. As long as she writes the majority (she didn't write any of the tringle, shockingly), I expect a great effort.
But #J4 better be full blown R&B.
As people have said, it's not really a surprise that this is better than WLH. Jo has some great pop tracks, but just about every R&B cut she touches is at least at this level. It's her bread and butter. I expect even better R&B bops on her alberm.
