John McCain was just on The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and basically said that the US should institute a no fly zone over parts of Syria and if Russia doesn't comply (which he doesn't believe they will), the US should take military action against Russia.

He didn't retract his statement, he just said the Russians would be at fault for any escalation. Dude would Def call for Military action if he were the President
