After years of success followed by financial failure, TLC is still being haunted by their former manager, Perri "Pebbles" Reid. In her latest lawsuit against TLC (indirectly--directly towards Viacom), she is asking for $40 million dollars in damages from their made for TV film, "CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story".

Pebbles filed the suit last year. However, with TLC prepping to tour for four months at that time, the proceedings got delayed. TLC has finally responded with revelations that will leave your heart broken.

This is a mess. I remember watching Pebbles' interview on Wendy and she seemed well-spoken and honest. But then again I guess a master manipulator would seem that way.

She never seemed honest to me. TLC have been telling the same story for 20+ years. Why wait NOW when a movie is made to file a lawsuit for defamation? She's tortured these women long enough. I had no idea they were THAT broke during the initial release of their album. They didn't start getting real celebrity money until they released "Diggin On You" (the last single from CrazySexyCool), and even that was barely enough.

VH1 is responsible for defamation by exaggeration and even lying in some parts to make the story juicy..

I encourage people to do their homework on this matter because I think people don't know that personally T and C have made peace with Pebbles and they are cool. Vh1 took the story to another level.

Pebbles has EVERY grounds to sue them.

VH1 need to settle with pebbles because they DID put stuff in their that wasn't supported. I hope Vh1 doesn't throw T and C under the bus because we know they don't have the coins.

Um, I'm not sure where you got your information, but if you read both proceedings they didn't misrepresent Pebbles at all. Pebbles even mentioning the use of "facial expressions" as an excuse in her deposition.

LMAO. TLC made peace with Pebbles, until they wanted to make the movie. Pebbles threatened them (TLC) before VH1 even decided to pick it up. Pebbles is also the reason why TLC was dropped from Epic records right after they released TLC 20, and the single Meant to Be, because she also threatened LA Reid (Pebble's ex-husband). LA Reid gave the green light to everything. LA wasn't pleased that TLC wanted to put EVERYTHING in the movie, but he didn't stop them because he knew he was wrong for his part in the development of TLC. Everything was true. You might want to do your homework, because if you watch TLC's Behind the Music, Pebble's didn't deny any of the claims TLC stated. The movie is pretty much everything the general public already knew.

You don't get it. Pebbles was the fall guide which is why T & C made peace with her in the 2000s because they were lured by a new contract and suffered similar issues so they could no longer blame her.

the reality is that you have 3 components: The creator: Pebbles, L A reid and babyface and Clive davis.

Who do you HONESTLY think the money went to and who was the one that was the fall guy?

L A reid didn't have an issue because the only part that he looked bad on is coming on to Chilli which for a man is not a bad look. His ex wife is the one that looked worse. Save that excuse.

I've watched TLC's behind the music when it first came on and am aware of how much money they made.

Now explain to me why they demanded their money from Clive if Pebbles had their coin.

the problem is that Pebbles was shafted for the bankruptcy but she got paid off by clive because she wasn't getting the money now in order to promote a GH and final tour TLC bring it back up and they don't tell the truth that Clive was the one that took their money which is why all of TLC went up to confront Clive about the 70M dollars they made the company and only received 40-50k.

There's a reason why the premier didn't have a disclaimer at the beginning and the reruns did because they didn't tell 100% statements so I understand Pebbles position. She got screwed being the fall guy for a group she created, got paid off by clive, made peace with the girls, the girls are in desperate need of money as their new contract from 1998-present wasn't much better than the Pebbles contract (which was KNOWN AND TYPICAL at that time) and they agree to sell their story.

Only problem is that it's not 100% true...which is what Pebbles is coming after.

It's clear that Pebbles is coming after VHI and the production company and not T and C's pocket change.


that said, I love TLC but I hate that once again the media pits the women against one another when in fact both sides know who took the actual money.

Did you even read their motion? The issue was that Pebbles had her hands in everything they did. Even taking credit and obtaining a percentage of publishing of music she didn't even write. The movie wasn't exaggerated much at all. If you read TLC's motion, they kept a lot of stuff about Pebbles out of the movie. So I'm not sure where you're getting your information from. Speculation Im assuming? I'm a huge TLC fan and many who have followed them will tell you everything in the movie was everything we already knew. Again, read both proceedings. You'll see that Pebbles has no chance in hell.

Pebbles also tried to stop them from touring this summer as well. But she couldnt.
