Yeah exactly, that doesn't take away someone's right to be offended by the use of that word. If someone's offended at canned laughter being the assumed reaction to a gay wedding or constant mis-usage of a transgender womans pronouns then let them be.
EDIT: And just reading above posts, I'm not saying I actually agree with the article.
