Anders Breivik threatens to go on hunger strike over 'deterioration of prison conditions'
Mass murderer Anders Breivik has threatened to starve himself to death over the apparent worsening of his prison conditions.
Breivik, 36, is currently serving 21 years in prison for killing 77 people in 2011 after he detonated a bomb outside a government building in Oslo and opened fire at a political youth camp on Utøya island.
According to The Local, Breivik sent a letter to Norwegian and Swedish press which says that, since September 2nd, he has been confined to a single cell which he can only leave for one hour a day.
He also complains of being given less communication time with prison staff.
He wrote: “Unless the 02/09/15 escalation is reversed, I will eventually continue the hunger strike until death. I cannot stand anymore.”
The Norwegian convicted of the massacre of 77 people last year has said he is being held in "inhumane" conditions.
Anders Behring Breivik complained in a letter to the prison service that his coffee is served cold, he does not have enough butter for his bread, and he is not allowed moisturiser.
In the letter, he complains that the cell is poorly decorated and has no view.
"I highly doubt that there are worse detention facilities in Norway," he writes.
Yes, welcome to the Nordic countries. Our law system is a joke.
He won't be missed.
All European law systems are laughable. I'm here for the US one where murderers get sentenced for 2000 yrs in prison because each years of sentence for each murder sum up.
