It says original release date May 2nd, what does 'original release date' mean, that it will be released then, or it has been changed?

I know its not a reliable source, but wikipedia has said this date for about a week now.

Anyway, if its true, Xtina's new single will be available to download on May 2nd in the UK, only a day after the video release (bad move). im presuming the CD single will be released on May 3rd (if its true), which is what normally happens. They should have released it a couple of weeks later IMO, i think it would sell more.

It's actually a great move.

It was already released as a digital download and failed to make an impact.
I guess they are hoping the video will give the song a boost.

Even if this is a hit in the UK, it won't mean anything. Even Elmo from Sesame Street can hit the top there

Its not a great move, no one in the uk knows this song yet, so why would they download it? which is why it got pulled in the first place.

Who cares they know the song yet or not that is the point of the video. There is nothing wrong with trying a different tatic. The video in essence will introduce the song to them

but whos going to download it a day after the video is released? trust me, thats not how it goes in the UK. it isnt even on the radio. no one knows the song and barely anyone will after a day of the video

Christina fans know the song exists even if it still has not had a official release over there. I am going to sit back and let it all play out i am sure they have something planned

a fan base isnt enough to make an impact on the charts, if it was, they wouldnt had pulled the original release

UK charts are VERY important and its not easy to crack it. And btw, the UK charts are flawless...best charts on earth. People in the UK got the best taste in music EVER.

US-Charts suck as hell and they arent that relevant anymore. Watch Madonnas sales

uk charts is a good indicator how popular an artist is worldwide..

And 'Not Myself Tonight' was not the 1st song to get pulled off iTunes over there. It's just common sense you can't release a song in Britain that soon, with zero radio or TV airplay, her label screwed up when they did it, so they had to back down.

That's also NOT true. If he doesn't know anything about charts, then you don't either. It doesn't matter if Madonna or someone else doesn't sell as good in the US as they do overseas, the US chart is still the biggest AND most relevant chart in the planet.

I may agree with you their "taste" usually suck, but that's only our opinion. In what concerns sales, influence and importance, no chart in the world beats US one.
