In Australia our equivalent would be your HSC (or VCE for Victorians), and we're given an ENTER or ATAR score (You vs. the country in that specific subject, and your rank). The ATAR is calculated using English (or Literature, English Language or ESL) and the 3 next best subjects (after scaling), which are known as the primary four. Up to 2 increments (2 extra subjects) can be used - 10% of each. That gives you your aggregate score. Somehow that's then made into your ATAR (I don't know how it goes from aggregate to ATAR).
Maximum possible is 99.95, below 40 you're not even told what your score is.
