'RUDE' RULES: Not sure if this means we might see a "Glee" episode paying tribute exclusively to Rihanna in the future, but the singer matches a chart feat previously achieved only by Madonna, whose music was the centerpiece of last night's "Madge-ical" episode of the Fox series. (The show's cast has already taken on Rihanna's "Take a Bow," reaching No. 46 on the Hot 100 with the ballad in September).
Rihanna's "Rude Boy" charges 3-1 on Hot Dance Airplay to become her seventh No. 1 on the tally, a sum that ties her with Madonna for most toppers dating to the chart's launch on Aug. 16, 2003 (coincidentally, Madonna's 45th birthday). Tied for third with four No. 1s each are Beyonce, David Guetta and Justin Timberlake.
"Rude Boy" concurrently rises 2-1 on the Rhythmic radio airplay chart. The song is the first No. 1 credited solely to Rihanna on Rhythmic. She previously reigned as a featured artist on T.I.'s "Live Your Life" and with Jay-Z and Kanye West on "Run This Town."
