Justin Bieber has said he's never heard of Shawn Mendes, the singer-songwriter who shot to fame after covering his song on Vine.
Now fans aren't sure if the singer genuinely doesn't know who Mendes is or if he was throwing shade at the 17-year-old, who has been hyped as the next Bieber.
Coincidentally, Digital Spy caught up with Mendes yesterday (September 15), where he was fairly sure Bieber would have an idea of who he is.
Asked whether he knows if the singer has seen his cover of 'As Long As You Love Me', Mendes replied: "Yeah, I'm sure he has. He probably knows of me," before jokingly adding: "Maybe he just hates me!"
People may have seen his cover (I haven't), but it's not like they can remember who he is after watching it, with 134234234 more prominent artists out there.
