The only musou game I've ever played is Tales of Heroes: Twin Brave and I'm only interested in musou games when they come as spin-offs like Hyrule Warriors or Dragon Quest Heroes. The actual Dinasty/Samurai Warrior games don't interest me, I think it's because of the setting.
Yass the only game I've played is Hyrule Warriors which I'm obsessed with (I know it's not the same) but when I get a gaming PC I plan on playing some of these.

Isn't Hyrule WiiU? Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper (the re-release before WO3U) exists on WiiU.
As for PC, get DW8 in my opinion, or DW9 if its coming soon.

I do too sis! I really do. I imported SW3E but couldn't understand it. SW4E has generic FEMALE officers in the game too (based on CAW designs). Hope DW's Empires series take that on board from now on too.
I don't have a ps3 so I can't play DW games anymore
I own DW1-6, Warriors orochi 1, samurai warriors (can't remember which one). Dw5 and 6 were so good until I saw the costumes and addition of new characters for Dw7 & 8 and I started fuming

TBH even with a PS3 I doubt you'll be able to play DW9. Pretty sure its gonna be PS4 only. You should look into getting one. I bought mine like a month ago
Lucky you getting DW6 on PS2. Wasn't released on PS2 here. There's gonna be a series revamp for DW9 apparently (but then again there was for DW6 but the biggest things were swimming and climbing and renbu which no one liked).

yup. Guan Suo got added in 7 and Guan Xing and Yinping in 8.
Yueying also got the bladebow back instead of the dagger-axe in DW8E as it made her look more feminine.
Zhenji always looks stunning. She really slayed on 8'd design.
I'm hoping that Cheng Pu, Zhou Fang, Cao Hong, Yang Xiu and Ma Su will all get adds in DW9. I'm highly doubting Yang Xiu though since he didn't even get a design for blast. In fact neither did Zhou Fang which is a bit unfortunate. might be better for DW9 Empires' add tho.
