What is the list based on cuz no way 2 Singapore schools(1 maybe) are in the top 20. In fact a lot of these schs are misplaced. Oxford & Cambridge are easy to get into. They are definitely not better than Stanford This list is a complete mess.

Surprised Yale is so "low."

They are based on citations and publications in journals. Singapore government has been committed to turn the country into the center of research in the world, so the improved rankings are not surprising imo

Low acceptance rate does not make a great school. Great faculty and great research output make great schools. Many of the large public research universities feature more prominent faculty and research output than smaller, more selective private schools, even though they may not appear selective based on undergraduate admission rates.

On a related note, it's kind of outrageous that Berkeley isn't on the list.

Nice to see non-Western countries get some recognition for their universities, but this list is pretty disposable regardless. It's nearly impossible to be objective about how "good" a university is when each one is boiled down to such a low common denominator.

I was at Oxford a few months ago. The campus is beautiful.
