"Yeah it really was tough [getting headliner Missy to perform]," Rob Da Bank tells Newsbeat backstage at Bestival.
It's the festival he set up 11 years ago.
"Missy doesn't like playing live particularly, she doesn't need to, she just doesn't want to that much and she doesn't like travelling." But Rob Da Bank was persistent, willing to pay her more and that paid off for him.
"It took me nine months to book the line-up this year"
"It was just a case of keep on whacking up the money, keep phoning the agent and pray for good news.
"I got turned down twice. and then I was like 'I am going to give it one last go'.
Luckily something clicked and the cheque was large enough, speaking frankly.
As one festival ends, his thoughts now turn to next year and the on-going headache of who will headline in 2016.
