Bubble tea (also known as pearl milk tea, or boba-milk tea) (Traditional Chinese: 珍珠奶茶, Simplified Chinese: 珍珠奶茶) is a Taiwanese tea-based drink invented in Taichung in the 1980s.[1] Most bubble tea recipes contain a tea base mixed/shaken with fruit or milk, to which chewy tapioca balls and/or fruit jellies are often added. The "bubble" refers to the foam created by shaking the tea, which itself is called "pàomò" (泡沫) tea, meaning "frothy/foamy" tea. Ice-blended versions are usually mixed with fruit or syrup, resulting in a slushy consistency.[2]
There are many variants of the drinks, and many kinds of ingredients may be added. The most popular bubble drinks are bubble milk tea with tapioca and bubble milk green tea with tapioca.[2]
I remember at the beginning of this year a new bubble tea shop opened really close to my house so I supported them when they first started out and they would give me 2 for one for like a whole month. I stopped going and came back a few weeks ago and they charged be $6.50 and I was like "NOT TODAY FATTY NOT TODAY".

lol im sure another one will open soon near you.... they are getting very popular
I like it but my friends are crazy about it. I don't go out of my way to go to milk tea places, only if they want to go and I just order something with them.
When I tried it I liked the actual flavor but the balls tasted like plastic and just ruined the experience for me. I'd try it again, but hold the balls next time.
