“I’m excited to get to the point where we don’t have to have this conversation, where we can have a pansexual Spider-Man,” Garfield said. “What are we so scared of? Why are we so, ‘No, it has to be this way, a man and a woman.’ Why is that even a conversation?”
He continued, “We’re scared of things that aren’t us. Love is love. Skin is skin. Flesh is flesh. We’re all wrapped in the same thing. I have no preference.”
Andrew has been talking about wanting a pansexual Spiderman for quite some time, even wanting Michael B. Jordan to play his love interest. I'm all for diversity but why does there have to be a bi-sexual Spiderman? or any superhero for that matter? doesn't seem to serve a purpose for me. There are other ways to make a character complex, in my opinion.
He also said something similar to that a couple of years ago, how he would want Peter Parker to have a boyfriend after
Gwen died
. I'm sure it won't happen though, unfortunately, but I would've loved to see Andrew fulfill that role
