Any architects / future architects around here? I'm a sophomore in college, currently taking up my first design class. Post your works from design class and let's all help each other out with critiques!
Post some iconic architectural masterpieces found in your city!
therme vals - peter zumthor.. i had to draw and render this entire building my first year, so ****ing beautiful.
i also love all this modern, minimalist, with untouched whitewash walls architecture in portugal.
ugh. looks so good against the skyline, allows you to see the beauty of shadows and lighting which is constantly changing.. so beautiful i love straight, sharp edges and using space wisely—like, zaha hadid is just not for me.

Those are absolutely beautiful! And yes, Zaha Hadid is too much for me and her works get a bit too wacky.
I wish I would have gotten myself together in my Math and Art classes in college. I've pondered getting a Master's in Architecture (If I am successful in graduating college)
The only things that would worry me are lack of sleep (Not something I like), and the fact that the field is saturated enough as it is. Also, I've read that Architects go through 10 year employment slumps, and that feels a bit bothersome as well, but watching all these new buildings go up, I want to do something in design.
I want my laptop back so I can start SketchUpping again.
Personally, I saw some beautiful buildings on my trip to North Korea. My father made me fall in love with tall, big apartment buildings and has managed to make me dislike the round, weird-shaped buildings because it's not functional.

The lack of sleep is definitely the worst thing that can happen (along with having no time to eat but lack of sleep = cranky; which is pretty bad for a critique) but other than that, it's a pretty fun course! Well, I love what I'm doing.
By the way, does anyone have tips on staying up late or not sleeping at all while working on your design plates and scale models? I always end up sleeping and not finishing them.
