I wouldn't really classify Ariana as one of the big pop girls yet

She's not really the one I'm looking forward to the most; but if I like the single, I guess it'll hold me over a bit.

The big pop girls are Beyonce, Gaga, Britney, Taylor, Rihanna, Katy, Miley, and Adele. And Madonna too, in an emeritus role.

Selena & Demi are both on her level & they're releasing in Oct/have dedicated pop stans. I would consider them the first two high-profile pop releases of 2015. So sad it took until Oct.

no shade but she's still new and shouldn't be considered a major pop star

Personally my main qualm about classifying her as main is that she doesn't have a million-selling album in the US.
