One of my favorite bands is performing near me, but none of my friends want to shell out the $$$ to go with me, so I'm just gonna go solo. Is it any different than going in a group/friends? Have you ever gone to a concert by yourself?
I did see Icona Pop/Marina & The Diamonds by myself. It was a bit nerve wracking at the beginning, but I sort of threw myself in the middle of the crowd so I could get really close and just ended up talking to the people around me and enjoying myself like any other time I've gone to a show. Everyone's there for the same reason ykwim.
Sometimes it's better because it's less stress when it's just you doing your thing. Plus there are lots of social people around you. I've made friends at concerts before. Line buddies are part of the experience
I don't think it'd be that bad. I mean everyone is just looking to chill and have a good time at concerts, I doubt anybody will even notice you're by yourself if you feel like it'd be awkward or whatever.
Hm, I would say they're different experiences. For myself, I think going with people who enjoy an artist as much as you can lead to a more "hyped" experience since you have a personal someone(s) to bounce your excitement off of constantly, while alone is more personal. Personal as in it feels more about you and the artist, and just the general feeling of the concert itself and your surroundings. I've gone to an equal amount of both and enjoy them equally, maybe even the alone ones more.
For like a 1D concert I need someone with me there to fangirl with, but a lesser known artist/band I'll probably enjoy it more just being a part of that concert/experience with everyone around me and not a mentally sectioned off duo/group.
I'm pretty self conscious so I would never be able to get over the idea that everyone would think I'm a friend-less loser if they saw me by myself at a concert. But that's just me. Have fun
