According to Nielsen, the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards is the most Tweeted program since Nielsen Social began tracking Twitter TV activity. (since October 2011, ranked on Tweets, excluding sports events)
In the U.S., 2.2 million people sent 21.4 million Tweets about the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards and almost 11.8 million people saw those
Tweets a total of 676 million times (impressions).
This is an increase of 69 percent from 2014, when there were 12.6 million Tweets.
If we look across all programming each year, only the Super Bowl generated more Tweets.
The most Tweeted minute occurred at 10:49 pm with 247,525 Tweets following Kanye West’s announcement that he was running for President.
Twitter grows and grows every year. Means nothing.
True but this'll be a hit thread regardless.
I mean I'm sure somehow there could have been a possibility of less or equal to last year if there was no interest so hopefully this is in align with ratings increasing overall.
