hi
i have clear skin until i shave, then after i shave i get these red spots on my cheek that don't hurt or anything, they're just like red spots. i use a Gillette razor and giltette sensitive shaving foam (my skin isn't sensitive apart from this issue). And i always use clean blades, of course. When i get this after shaving i put cream on my face and its gone in like 2 days but still its annoying to get them in the first place.
im not sure if this makes any difference but:
. i have skin type 3
. my skin is oily
do any of you get this issue? and if you do what do you do to stop it
thanks

use hot towel for 5 minutes first and trim your hairs before shaving

do you like the clean shaven look?
I had to stop shaving because I have really sensitive skin, so I bought a beard trimmer and it has this little thing that gives you that "clean shaven" look (and feel) without shaving, you don't even need shaving foam to use it.

apply hot water on your face before shaving and after you done, clean your face with very cold water.
Idk if this'll work for you tho, since I never had the thing you have.

Long story short I used to get a lot of razor bumps but then I started using Sephora men products and it helped keep my face smooth. They have a facial cleanser, then you shave, and then an after shave kit that works with my skin but everyone is different.
I tried other stuff but that one works best for me. You might have to try different stuff/ask for help in the store to see what the clerk recommends.

It's usually caused by the way you shave. Do not shave against your facial hair, only towards the way it grows. The reason why guys tend to get razor burn - yes those are the bumps as well - is because,
-They don't comprehend the ridges of their face, and tend push too hard on certain areas.
-Over shaving; as in going up, down, left, and right on same damn spot. Wtrudoin.
-Sweat
-Some skins are just prone to it and you may not be able to do anything about it. Which in that case none of these rules apply to you.

here's the link: http://www.philips.com.sg/c-p/QG3371...-kit-face-hair
I'm sure you can find a cheaper one, but it works really well (and you'll never have to buy shaving foam/razors again).

I once shove my thighs and it happened to me too. I guess you shave the wrong way or too much.

Aside from improving your shaving technique or using better tools, you can apply witch hazel with a cotton ball before/after shaving. After you're finished shaving and after you've applied the witch hazel, you can use this product called "Bikini Zone". Bikini zone is designed to prevent bumps and ingrown hairs and works amazingly well. The smell is strange at first but it goes away once it dries. It's obviously marketed for your crotch since that's the area most prone to spots after shaving, BUT you can apply it anywhere on your body. Just make sure you apply it morning/night.
Also I second /r/shaving and /r/SkincareAddiction on reddit, they are amazing!

Is your hair curly? One thing you're never told is the difference between "White" hair care products and "Ethnic" hair care products (and yes, that is how Walmart labels their black hair care products) is that "white" products believe your hair grows in straight and "ethnic" hair care products treat your hair as if it grows in curly.
If you can't get a razor to work, try a depilatory cream like Magic Gold Shaving Powder. It works WONDERS.

Isn't witch hazel drying and potentially irritating? If one is struggling with razor bumps, that doesn't seem very good.

Oh, this is what I do too. I like how the trimmed beard gives a "shadow" to the face.

if you don't already, I would suggest getting a razor with 3+ blades. Razors with only 1 or 2 blades do a terrible job (+ are more dangerous) and irritate the skin so much.
I would also recommend getting a good after-shave lotion such as the aveeno after shave lotion, it reduces the irritation and stops itchy bumps from happening.

I have never shaved using razor i only use the trimmer so my advice for u is to use the trimmer
its better tbh
Shaving with razor is only gonna make your hair grows a lot and faster than the trimmer

I have the same problem with shaving my neck!
I found a solution, I don't shave
I kinda like beard now and I hate how I look without it
Just trim it a bit when it's too long
