at least this won't happen in the uk. people say gun control is an attack on people's liberties but really because of the relatively easy access to guns in the us people are having to sacrifice other liberties get it together

This isn't new. Cineplex has already been doing bag searches for years. And it isn't done by employees, its done by hired security.
We don't care if your sneaking in food, its mostly for weapons or recording devices.
As for the comments on lowering food prices, the food is expensive because that is where they make their money. Movie theatres make 0 to maybe 2% profit off ticket sales. Operating multiplexes is expensive.
