Why are black artists rejecting pop dance. It was just yesterday that Rihanna Nicki and Kelis where producing some of the hottest global tracks (Nicki isn't my preference but her pop stuff is miles better). It's a serious question.

Rihanna is attempting this ghetto raunchy vibe (#bbhm #dollasigns) and running far from dance. Nicki is also ashamed of wanting to be a pop star. Beyonce, well Idk why but she's wanting to exclusively do like a sing-raping Nicki Minaj thing. Lean on, the biggest single this year was rejected by Nicki and Rihanna. Why?

I doubt any of the artists you mention are afraid of doing dance music - especially Rihanna and Nicki, who have already dipped into it and continue to do so incidentally.

I think it's more that dance music hasn't been as on trend lately as urban music.
