I work for Papa Johns and the pizza was coming out of the oven I grabbed the pizza box and I was rushing because my shift was almost finished. Before I knew it, the pizza box was upside down and I already put the pizza in causing the pizza to be upside down. I tried to turn it over but the toppings were RUINED and looking dreadful
I quickly shut the box. I then told the delivery man to go nnn and waited until he left. Then told my manager I've finished my shift. Packed my bags and WENT out that door for my life.
May not seem like a big deal, but fast food places are so strict. I'm kinda still 'training' and I'm in that dreadful 3 month period when I can be fired at any moment.
When you make a mistake at work, they treat you like some criminal - ain't got time for that

Back long ago when I was a busboy I was always dropping the tray of clean glassware and dishes. It was funny

at my old job where i worked as a cashier i'd sometimes realize that i hadn't actually scanned all the goods but i was to lazy to do it again so i'd just let people take them without paying

I gave out two coffees for free once. They drank it right in front of me at the counter and were cackling a little, I was too embarrassed to ask them to pay after I forgot to. Nobody else found out though.

One time I was working the jewelry counter (I work in a department store) and I was showing someone a diamond ring while also trying to juggle a few other customers. You're only supposed to help one customer at a time especially if you're showing a diamond and you're also supposed to call the LP officer (the guy who watches the cameras and catches shoplifters) when you're showing a diamond so that they can keep an eye on the customer. Welp I was handling multiple customers AND forgot to call LP and the customer ended up slipping away with the ring. Oops lol.

My first job was with a pool company. The last time I worked there I was helping check the water at a hotel. My boss told me to pour chlorine into a jacuzzi until he said stop. He never said stop so I poured the entire bottle of chlorine in the jacuzzi. He never called me in for work after that

What was the outcome of that? That's not free coffee, that's diamond. Were they able to pin it down to you? What happened.

I work in retail and scan the wrong items so many times. A few times, I never noticed till it was too late to correct my mistake and I'd already over/under charged customers who'd left the store

I used to get paid to write score sheets for hockey games and there were a bunch of rules on which acronyms to use, how they can be written, writing down specific times, ect. One time it was a particularly overwhelming game and the referee looked at the sheet during half time and literally just told me to go home cause I f'd it up so bad

I work in software engineering, one time I did an UPDATE sentence on the database without the WHERE clause, in production environment, without a backup (translation, I ruined 6 months worth of data)

Last summer I was helping my dad do demolition on this house he was renovating, and I picked up a 12 foot ladder to move it. I didn't know there was a hammer sitting on top of the ladder and when I went to move it, the hammer fell from 12 feet up and hit me directly on the head I didn't tell anyone

I called and let them know right when I realized the customer was gone. I had to fill out this form saying that a diamond had been lost and then that was it. I wasn't fired or even written up luckily.

I remember one time when I put a pizza in the oven and forgot I put it in there. It eventually started to smell like something was burning and it clicked to me, so I then ran to the oven. When I opened it, it was a huge pitch black rectangle which smelled like complete ****. I have never smelled anything like it before. :Jonny: thankfully the manager wasn't working that day.

I was running the register one time and They had a counterfeit bill in the register for not to use so my manager could turn it in. Someone came in with a 50 dollar bill and I accidentally gave them a counterfeit 20 and a regular ten . I dont think ive seen that customer ever again
