Rumour: Future on Keri's album, possible surprise release
Quote:
I can in no shape or form give a description of my job, or else I'll be tracked down easily, so I'll just tell you guys what I've found out and heard. Keri's new album is coming soon. They were ready to release it during spring, but refused to cause Ciara was doing hers at that time. Didn't want to lose to her old rival, but after seeing the sales, they wanted to go ahead, but Keri's manager thought it was a bad idea. Her team is trying to build her back as a feminist that gives no **** and is about herself only type of artist, so no beefs this season.
I believe her album will do very well, given the right publicity and if she shows up at places and makes her name get some attention. She's worked with some artists that are hot in the music circles right now, such as Chris Brown and Future. The album is more hip hop and trap, but there's a bit of R&B there. Also a pop anthem with someone she's made some succesful collaborations with in the past. She has many songs that could do big on the radio. But that is, if the public still remembers her. IMO this is a very good album, and I haven't listened to her that much, and I didn't even meet her until my team got enlisted by her entourage some months ago. Still doing some finishing touches, but you will be impressed.
The main issue is that they want to do an unannounced release. But some people are against it. Since she's been out of the spotlight so long she will be Tyga'd, but certain people in her circles think that she will do very well. Expect the album out soon. It will be announced or randomly dropped. She should put her foot down and announce a date or else it won't do big, but we'll see. She has a song with a female rapper in there too. I won't say who, but it is not the one you would expect.

I don't think this album is gonna happen this year. Rihanna is coming as well. I don't think the surprise release could work either.
Even though I'm guilty of joking about her on occasion, I'll definitely be listening to this. She has an excellent voice and knows how to write a great song.
I wouldn't recommend a surprise release for her, though. She should go the more traditional route with an urban-leaning single pre-album release. I think that format would be most welcoming of her after the long break, plus pop has been rejecting her the entire 2010s now.
As a fan of her music, I'd welcome it, but as a fan of hers, I don't think it would be a good idea either. The break has been too long and currently she has a weak (or not-at-all) appeal.
