D&G Gives Formal Apology for IVF/Gay Parenting Comments

In March, designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana landed in hot water for calling children that were born through in vitro fertilization as "synthetic," adding that they "oppose gay adoption" and that IVF pregnancies are "chemical offsprings and rented uterus."
Their comments faced backlash from Elton John and American Horror Story producer Ryan Murphy both stated that they'd boycott the Italian brand. One of D&G's own executives even announced that he was stepping down as the editorial director of the fashion house's magazine Swide, stating that Dolce and Gabbana's comments were "in total conflict with my personal beliefs and with my commitments towards civil rights in my country."
The designers then tried to smooth over the situation in an interview with CNN, explaining that they may have chosen "the wrong words." However, there was no apology. Now in a new interview with Vogue, Dolce is apologizing for his insensitive comments.
"I am so sorry. It was not my intention to offend anyone," Dolce told Vogue's Sarah Mower during a conversation in Milan. He continued, "I've done some soul-searching. I've talked to Stefano a lot about this. I’ve realized that my words were inappropriate, and I apologize. They are just kids." [...]
