Dave Grohl has revealed the Foo Fighters will start recording a new studio album in September, with producer Butch Vig behind the board. Speaking to
Rolling Stone, Grohl said that instead of recording the new songs in the Foos' HQ, they plan to go lo-fi and record in analog in his garage. Grohl also revealed that a documentary about the band's history and making of the new album will be on the way as well. He also told the BBC that the band has already begun writing new material.
