Is Americans Claiming to be Irish Cultrual Appropriation
I'm Irish and I've heard "My ancestors were Irish" more times than I have flushed a toilet and its beginning to annoy me. Ask anyone from Ireland and they will tell you that its annoying when Americans and others claim to be Irish. Would you consider this cultural appropriation, a more dominant race using a less dominant races culture to their advantage?
Only the native Americans have ancestors from this country. How are you gonna be offended if people have ancestors from other countries? That's also not something only people in America do. Embarrassing
St. Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland and then had an pop megastar like Britney be inspired by and reference it at the VMAs like 1,500 years later. For such a small country, we gotta admit that Ireland's impact on America and within the world in general is incredible.
It's not like Ireland didn't have a giant famine in the mid-1800s that lead over a million people away from that country. Chances are, a lot of people are going to have Irish heritage because of this.
