I get where you're coming from, but, I mean, when was the last time you say a straight guy reading gossip mags

Certain things will always be associated as being either masculine or feminine, especially among communities where gender isn't very fluid. I don't think people are ready for the age when we no longer have these gender associations for what it means to be a boy or a girl, or for what "masculine" and "feminine" correlate to. We're getting there, but we're not quite there yet. Stuff like Barbie is still considered to be girly while monster trucks and sports are considered more boyish. And it will continue to be that way for a while. I think we're better off correcting the internalized homophobia in the gay community, for now.

You're right, it doesn't happen very offen. Which, is exactly why certain stereotypes, like that one, are so difficult to shake. It's because they're partially based on truth. But, as with any stereotype, you can't base your opinions solely on them. You always have to account for the outliers. So, even though it's not often that you see a straight dude reading a gossip magazine, you can't just assume he's gay because of it, obviously.
