Maybe she is just talking about how there are many ways of saying the same thing in the English language, but how we all have some innate preferences in terms of the ones we like to use personally.
That is, while "To commit suicide" & "To kill myself" convey essentially the same message, it's possible that stylistically she prefers one over the other.
