This article is ********, old or not. People hate the girl for trying to "copy" Rihanna when she's been dressing the way she was long before she was famous and before Rih had started dressing that way. Hating her has become such a meme of sorts. Every year and every award show, people ask "Who's Rita Ora?" I mean... after all these years of the same joke, y'all know who she is by now. She might not be a success in the US but she does well in the UK and Europe. Let the girl live.

Basically some people starting hating her because she looked like a Rihanna wannabe and then some other people starting hating her because other people was hating her.

Nobody in the U.S. would know. Here she's a glorified seat filler and most people have no idea she's in music.

The reason she gets backlash is because her industry connections seem to get her screentime at awards shows that are meant for musicians. She needs to build her brand in the U.S. if she doesn't want to be ridiculed for showing up to shows that are meant for the biggest music artists.

I don't hate her because she's a Rihanna wannabe. I dislike her because she always gets some spots by doing literally nothing. She hasn't had success in the US so I don't get why she's always in big awards shows and stuff.
