The last one was UTTER trash, and I say that as a huge ANOES fan (I've enjoyed every other movie in the series on some level), and the writer of Orphan doesn't give me much hope for this to be good either (that movie was okay but... It didn't show anything I'd want in ANOES) I guess there's no Platinum Dunes, which is a good thing. They've only ever made two good movies (their TCMs), and Beginning was released almost a DECADE ago. It's been trash ever since
Ugh, I wish that Hollywood would stop investing in these dumb ass remakes.
Like invest in exciting, new directors with fresh ideas for horror movies.
Maybe then the horror genre would finally get some creative movies again.
To be fair, even now you can get a really good remake (For example, Maniac remake was excellent) I think the issue is that most of these are done for a quick buck vs. because the creator is truly inspired and wants to do a good job and has ideas to change/improve/adapt/expand/etc. the source material.
I am really excited for the Strangers on a Train remake coming out because well... David Fincher
Why another remake? They should go the Mad Max route. Make a semi-standalone sequel that builds on what was established by the original series but concentrate on a tight scary story, don't try and re-invent the wheel.
i wonder if they're using the term 'remake' loosely and are just going to make a new standalone addition to the series with some obvious references to the past films
