Exactly this, because of all the twists and turns, you never could be certain. Luckily for us, we weren't unlucky and it wasn't "Oh this belongs to a flawed plane Boeing built but then dumped at sea because it couldn't fly, which wasn't seated properly to be an artificial reef so it washed thousands of miles away by currents."

At least this brings some sort of closure.

I don't think they'll find the plane, and if they do it won't be anytime soon. I saw on the news yesterday that the currents in that region aren't predictable and it makes searching for anything extremely hard.
