before joining atrl i was blind to the privilege i am subject to on a daily basis. i had just never witnessed racism or discrimination with my own eyes.

but the girls here helped me realise the injustice

yeah, I have a lot of class privilege My parents being able to pay for college out of pocket means I'll graduate debt free

Many people here do have privilage.

It can be because of race, gender, income and so on.

I do feel more privileged yes. But that doesn't mean I am racist or look down on other cultures/races. I just appreciate the fact I am white.

Yes, but I don't think it makes me a bad person to have befitted from the actions of others, when I have been nothing but supportive of other races, which some people don't seem to understand when having this conversation.

Well, I'm not white, but privilege isn't synonymous with race.

Income is a huge one, and in that respect I'm aware of my privileges.

Yes, just last week I was walking past this restaurant where I usually eat and then I heard a guy (probably the father) saying to his family: I wish we could eat in this fancy restaurant

Yes class privilege is a real thing.
I grew up upper middle class being the "token" because I spoke with proper english and didn't embody the typical stereotypes.
That transferred over into my career.

My parents paid for undergrad and the deal was that I pay for grad school.
I have an established career currently commanding 99k annual salary and I KNOW that I've received so much help from white people because I am 1/4 cuban 1/4 native american and half black with golden brown skin (not light not dark) and with dark green eyes. They don't feel as threatened by me and are more willing to help. They trust me more and I am able to deal in the white and black group although the black group can be a little wishy washy.

race privilege is real but so is class privilege and perception.

I take full advantage and am unapologetic.
Haters are always bothered that they talk to me AFTER weekly meetings and rely on me to do the real work and speak in front of our points of contact clients but hey don't blame me for not embodying the stereotype...
I always win and to the shady ones...I just shake em off...

Yeah. I'm not unaware.

I mean there's all types of privilege. Every single one of us is privileged in a way that isn't just race. There's class privilege(rich), race privilege(white), sex privilege(male), privilege based on sexuality (straight), being able bodied, living in a "first world" country.... etc

I'm would say I have privilege on being straight, able bodied and living in the USA.
