I don't think Avril, her label, or anyone really seriously expected Alice to make an impact on the chart, but it probably has served its purpose of promo anyways.

I'm also sure her label didn't expect it to impact, though that has never been my claim. And the
Rated R strategy doesn't have to equal this one. This is a film soundtrack, not a studio album. IDK the reasoning for Rihanna's strategy, but I'll take a gander that it was to keep selling the single and album.
But, it stands "Alice" is the main single with "Follow Me Down" & "Tea Party" (by Kerli) have been follow ups. I don't have much else to say since I've proven my point and you just seem to be talking about irrelevant pre-order tracks to a full fledge single. Not feeling like going in circles, especially with you.
