"Taylor & Katy were offered a co-headlining concert"
Quote:
All that Bad Blood between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry is causing a massive headache for concert promoters in Las Vegas.
Organizers of the launch of the £240million MGM-AEG Arena were hoping the stars would jointly headline the venue’s opening night.
Now they’ve had to scrap their plans and choose between the two.
One executive at MGM reveals: “Initially it was suggested that both should headline, but that is impossible and neither would concede the headliner role.
“Now it’s up to MGM and AEG to decide who to pick – and that could be tricky given both are major players and earners.
“They are both in contention for the top spot on what will be a multi-million pound launch and one of the greatest events in the history of Vegas.
“AEG are keen to make sure that this new venue really gets huge traction. Early talks have started with their teams, but as you can imagine there is huge tension over it all – and the concert chain will have to make a decision.”
Shame. I'd be here for them doing it, publicly making up and proving that there's more power in love than in hate, and releasing the lead single from the 1989 re-release featuring Katy Perry in the coming months.
They'll definitely pick Taylor if they can choose only one, though. Taylor is in the middle of a highly successful era and Katy hasn't dominated the charts since mid-2014, it would only make sense.
