When asked if the Jackson 5 would ever grace Australian shores again, Jermaine insisted the tour plans were well under way.

"And Janet will be joining us. We're all talking about it now," he told music editor Kathy McCabe. "She has never played with us before so that will be very special. She definitely wants to do it."

Janet was originally going to join the family reunion shows scheduled for last year but the tour was canned because Michael didn't want to join his brothers, preferring to go ahead with his own This Is It concert tour.

With her own recording career in limbo after the lacklustre performance of her 2008 record Discipline, Janet and her brothers would enjoy a significant career boost touring as a family after Michael's death.

Jermaine said they may even use Michael's This Is It stage. "We own it," he said.

Jermaine, 55, put up his hand for a ticket to fellow American touring star Rihanna's cocktail party at Ivy on Monday night.

He was overheard saying he hoped to persuade Rihanna to join a Michael Jackson tribute show he is trying to organise later in the year. No word to date on how well his request was received by the star, who spent the party locked up tight with her posse in a corner, ignoring fellow guests.

Jermaine says a lot of things. He was going around for the best part of a decade insisting there would be a J5 reunion tour with Michael on lead. I think it's just wishful thinking on his part. He wanted to work with his brothers again.

I think that it might be different this time. Not only because she's on a really good label now, but Make Me managed to have a peak of around 300 spins without ANY PUSH from her label when it leaked just based on the buzz the song got, the promo came only like months later with the video and some performances.

Now now, Janet is surely a great touring artist, it will be a great tour with or without her brothers along for the ride. SMH at ppl saying she isn't relevant, one of the most successful female performers of all time.

Depends on kind of relevancy you're talking about. Janet Jackson herself is still relevant (especially now) but her music career hasn't been in years.

have been exploiting michael's death to get publicity
for themselves and to help their careers
everybody always makes excuses for it but
it's REALLY obvious if people look at everything

Gosh you are so clueless. It's all JERMAINE. Janet has nothing to do with this, a tour may materialize but she certainly won't be on it and it will bomb because nobody cares about the Jackson 4 or 'The Jacksons - Minus Michael.' Jermaine has always been the diva of the group, he always has a big mouth, he always wants attention and nothing he says ever comes to fruition.
