News: Green Day, Jimi Hendrix to have their own Rock Band game

Jimi Hendrix has been announced to star in a new version of Rock Band.

The late music icon's stepsister Janie revealed the news today, confirming that the game is being earmarked for release before the end of 2010.

No further details have yet been issued, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Green Day are also currently preparing to launch their own edition of Rock Band later this year, in the wake of the succes of The Beatles' original.

Meanwhile, Hendrix is due to be the subject of a new film in 2010.
