Obama keeps preaching we need to tighten our grip on gun policy and enforce them more effectively. But will it do anything? I read a lot of comments saying his view on this issue in America (in general) is idiotic.
I did post this on my Facebook:
Quote:
The problem isn't gun control, the problem is spreading love. Have you told your family you loved them? When was the last time you hugged a friend? What about greeting a stranger with a shake of the hand? I mean, not trying to get all sappy, but sometimes you have to fight violence with love. These people who are apparently "messed up" were probably neglected love when growing up. Or they grew up in a bad environment. If we want change, only we are in control of that. You can't expect someone else to do it for you. Preach love, not hate. Clearly some people are so misguided and problem oriented they feel the need to take it out on others. So let's clear the air out tonight and say I love all my friends and family. Thanks for being in my life

If you ever taken psychology, it's basically a course that involves the process of the brain and how/why it interacts and does what we do among others. I'm a firm believer that these people committing crimes don't just wake up one day and decide to shoot down a school or now movie theater. Something builds up over time and eventually they snap. Something with their brain. There IS always a motive, whether or not, it's clearly known.
If you want to end violence, we need to stop and take a look at our lives and how we interact with one another. Do you tease kids at school? Do you avoid certain people because they don't "fit" in? The list goes on...
A policy isn't going to solve anything when there is still a core problem within ourselves that we need to fix. It may temporary reduce the problem, but in the end, people will always get around the law.
