Chris Brown has issued a plea to President Obama for help leaving the Philippines, where he has been banned from leaving for the past three days.
The singer has been documenting his time trapped in the country on Instagram and it has made headlines around the world – but Filipino officials are not backing down.
Their argument is that Brown has still not compensated them for a concert he cancelled on New Year’s eve last year. He was due to board his private jet for a flight to Hong Kong on Tuesday, but has been stuck in Manilla since.
His first Instagram videos documenting the incident show him joking around about the situation, clearly believing he will soon be released, but the third video – seemingly aimed at Barack Obama – shows the 26-year-old on his knees saying, “Please, please, let us leave, please,” but it has since been deleted.
Basically he got paid in excess of US$1,000,000 for a concert/show, and he did not do it. Philippine officials will NOT allow him to leave the country until the investigation is over.
