I hate running more than anything in the world I never job.
I prefer working out at home or outside.
Smh I was planning to jog for 30 minutes around my house, I was 13 minutes in and some old creepy man pulled in a van near me so I just ran home
And I feel you. I can't swim, I haven't got a bike and I'm terrible at exercise in general let alone jump rope
Gym, b/c I'm lazy. I always get sidetracked by the tv/computer/food when attempting home workouts, whereas at the gym it's like "well I'm already here, might as well work out for 2 hours". I don't run/jog outside because I'm super self conscious and feel like I look stupid
I jogged pretty much all my life + I swim in the weekends (more as a leisure, but I guess I'm also working out in the process). But lately I've joined a gym because all those cardio activities have made me too skinny and I need some strength training to gain muscle mass. All working out option are good, as long as you are moving and not being lazy. It also depends on what you want to achieve. To each their own.

My main meals are pretty healthy, but I also have my dose of chocolate or unhealthy food once in a while. As long as I'm burning more calories than I intake, it doesn't bother me much.
If you want fitness, running is by far and away the best activity to do because it puts more strain on your cardiovascular/breathing/respiratory systems than basically any other sport. This also means it's the hardest, and it is very high impact.
If you want very lean muscle and to look like someone who is actually fit and an athlete, then swimming is the way to go because it is resistance training for your whole body.
If you want to look like a gym buff and have that unnatural type of muscle that only comes from isolating each muscle group and breaking it down, then the gym is the best option for you.
If you want to just get started with a mix of lots of moderate cardio with some weight training, go for home DVDs.
At the end of the day, as long as you try and do something every day then it doesn't matter too much what that is, unless you want a particular result as fast as possible.
