GABRIELLA CILMI hopes her new "grown up" material will help whip up a storm.

The singer, whose single Sweet About Me was the most played song in the UK last year, is returning with an edgier sound and even feistier attitude.

She's even spending big on her videos, her latest one for comeback single, On A Mission, cost £250,000.

The Australian-Italian singer-songwriter reckons her new direction will surprise many.

Gabriella said: "I'm not a little girl anymore. I've grown up, and I'm ready to fight to get what I want."

The track is the first single from new album Ten which will be released shortly afterwards.

"I've found my inner disco diva" she explains

"The whole album is about me becoming an adult, becoming stronger. I want to really switch it on, smother myself in gold paint and transform into someone else. I can't wait to get this show on the road."

On A Mission is released on March 8 and Ten comes out on March 22.
