When we recently sat down with Little Mix to talk about their new album, we weren't ready for the bombshell revelation they were about to drop.
The four-piece were happily talking about how their new album is more "guitar-driven" and has an "80s influence" when Leigh-Anne Pinnock just casually dropped in a little hint about one of the tracks.
"An interesting fact for you," she says. "There's actually a sister to 'DNA' on the album."
Wait, what? Jesy Nelson please explain. "We listened to the track and were like, 'Ooh, this sounds a little bit like it could be the second part of 'DNA'', and then it pretty much is."
'DNA' was the second single to be released off their debut album of the same name, and saw the girls turn kind of crazy in the music video and kidnap their crush. You can watch the video below to refresh your memory.
"We've always wanted to do one," Leigh-Anne elaborated on the follow-up. "We love the sound of 'DNA' and we love being that weird character that's strong and powerful... so we knew we had to have something like that on this album."
Little Mix also said it would be "amazing" if they got to continue the original music video, which is the correct answer.
Even though I think objectively Move is more experimental and orginal, DNA is still my favorite track from them. It really deserved to be their 3rd #1.
The production and melody is one of my absolute favorites of any pop song really.
