It depends on how you say it -- if you're describing someone you only know by appearance, you put the description in inoffensive terms when referring to things that can get sensitive like age or size "thin or heavier/full figured man/woman", "older man/woman" and when referring to perceived race or ethnicity, you should probably stick with only terms that can be found on a recent government census.
