ABC has reportedly offered Paula Abdul a $1 million (£620,000) development deal to appear on Dancing With the Stars.
According to reports by TMZ, the deal would allow Abdul to participate in The X Factor with Simon Cowell, who purportedly met with the singer and choreographer last week to discuss the show. Abdul must make her decision quickly, as the tenth season of the DWTS premieres on March 22.
Speculation about Abdul's involvement with DWTS began last August when she announced that she would be leaving American Idol. Conrad Green, executive producer of DWTS, has been very vocal about his interest in her participation on the show.
"Everyone wants her," Green said. "At our show, we are great fans of Paula."
I hope she does DWTS. The X Factor with both her and Simon at the same time is just like American Idol Part 2. I don't see what the whole point of leaving the original US show would be. The show we all fell in love with.
