Icon J.D. Salinger Dies At 91
Literary icon J.D. Salinger, the famously reclusive author whose 1951 novel, "The Catcher in the Rye," became a touchstone for generations of readers, has died. He was 91.
The author died Wednesday of natural causes at his home in New Hampshire
RIP January 1, 1919 – January 27, 2010

The Catcher in the Rye has sold over 70 million copies and continues to sell 250k each year. Huge!

I actually read his book (CITR) but I think it was way overpraised, if you say so but it's a good read nonetheless.

I had to read that book for a class work. It was just too bad he refused to let the media come close to him or his work. Anyway, RIP.
