Rihanna's already close to 300 million records sold (she sold around 150 million records in the US alone) at such a young age, and only being around for a bit over 10 years. Isn't that insane?

I really hate the word "record".
How can a $0.99 product be equal to a $15 product?
It's ridiculous.

D.M.F. creating a thread that isn't inherently shady?
Not sure how to feel.
Go, Rihanna!

What's her total records count? Anyone got a breakdown? I don't follow her but I presumed she wouldn't have broken 200M yet.

Exactly. But anything to make her stats look more impressive I guess.

The Navy said she
sold
100M singles in the US (including features), so unless she sold 50M albums/DVDs/ringtones then no..

A "record" is simply a recording, be it a single or full LP.
Just cause we've gone from vinyl to CD to digital file doesn't change this fact.

I always thought records included all formats?
Besides I still think Rihanna's sales are pretty impressive.
