WHO DAT? WHO DAT? WHO DAT said dey gonna beat dem Saints? I am too excited for the New Orleans Saints. We've waited a long time for this and finally it's here...a Super Bowl appearance.

It's just too hard to believe that the Super Dome in 2005 was a complete mess and feeling the devastating setbacks of Hurricane Katrina. The building was in complete disarray with holes in the ceiling, damaged seats, destroyed restrooms and walls peeling from every direction. Now, the Super Dome and all of New Orleans are celebrating the Saints win over the Minnesota Vikings for the program's first ever Super Bowl appearance.

If I wasn't a broke college student, I would definitely be at the Super Bowl game in Miami. Maybe I need to take a road trip with the girls?

At the beginning of the night, I was happy to see either the Vikings or the Saints win (as I'm not a fan of either team) but after the game, I can't help but to feel horrible for Brett Favre. When the Vikings were going down the field at the end of regulation, me and my friend instantly started rooting for the Vikings. Favre was playing in pain, this might have been his last season, and he finally had a chance to be a hero (but then we all know what happened). I am happy for the Saints. They deserve it, but I really wanted to see Favre pull it off.

Go Saints...this is for New Orleans baby, Irvy leave this thread...and Brett needs to retire he screwed that game up himself...so.

Well... Favre's INT was the final nail in the coffin but he did not singlehandedly screw the game up. The Vikings fumbled the ball 6 times (and lost 3 of them). Then we can't forget the horrid playcalling when the Vikings were at the 34 yard line at the end of the game. It looked like they thought a 51 yard field goal was going to be a chip shot because they ran the ball up the middle, then did the same thing again. I think they lost a yard on those two combined plays. Then they proceeded to have 12 men in the huddle and lose another 5 yards, then Favre threw the INT. That INT never happens had it not been for the penalty and the terrible playcalling.

My family's from Minnesota so I'm kinda disappointed.

But I'm still glad for NO Saints!

Really, I could live with them running VERY conservative plays at the 34, but the fact that they had 12 men in the huddle that late in the game is just a complete lack of discipline. Couple that with the forced picks and the incredible inability to hold onto the football, and it's a blunder the likes of which we will rarely see again.
