Production wise, this is the original edit of the song before it was cut down for release, so it's slightly longer with an extended chorus in the end. None of Michael's lead vocals are present on this, so it's only Janet's solo, and there are actually new vocals that weren't present on the released product. Unfortunately there are no vocals of Janet singing Michael's verses.

This is very well done. It's obviously a mix incorporating elements of the original, the a capella, the instrumental, and the Scream Louder remix. There's no actual "new" vocals, everything here is present in either the original or the Def mixes by Dave Morales and Hex Hector, some of it was just mixed down or covered up by MJ's guttural throat spasms. Still, it's very well crafted.

KING decided he needed to re-record his vocals after hearing Janet's. Don't rewrite HIStory.

I personally never heard any of those Scream remixes.

Thanks for the insight though, I always thought the vocals were new because they weren't on the main mix of the track, or they were turned down so low they couldn't be discerned.

I bounced this out from Scream's multitrack and cut out one annoying element in the bridge of the song that shouldn't have been there. Unfortunately, the multitrack was missing like 2 stems, the guitar used in the dance break and the news reporter. The vocals in the multitrack were also not mixed.
