It's been getting decent reviews from critics and average reviews by horror fans who like the Scream franchise. Wes Craven is also working behind it (not doing a whole lot but he is involved) so I have faith it will be good.

I'm sad by this but I'm also not sad. The Weinsteins really screwed up Scream 4 with that hospital ending, killing the chance of a successful Scream 5.

Wes is only a vanity producer credit on the TV Series.

But he knows the reasoning behind the mask of the show (which hints at him being involved with the writers/producers) so I wouldn't be shocked if he has like a tad bit of development in the series.

Regardless of him working behind it or not, I'm just very excited Scream is still alive in a different form.

Honestly, I'm really pissed since Scream 4 really wasn't that bad and I hate how the series is over after the feud with Kevin Williamson because of Weinstein's shady ass changing his scripts behind his back.

I'm not that let down. Scream is one of my favorite movie franchises BUT another trilogy would have been to much and I like how the 4th one went. The TV show looks great IMO so I'm excited the franchise lives on in some form.

A TON of fans want a final film with closure (I believe Bob's brother wants one too) but we just won't get that. I doubt Hayden would do it either for some reason. She may want to take a year or so off acting to spend time with her child and I'm not sure if Nashville is getting a few more seasons. I also doubt Courteney would do it and Neve said she would have to have a "long talk" with the studio before thinking of doing the movie.

I'm just gonna accept the film franchise is over. I have accepted it ever since we got the announcement of the TV show in 2012.

They should have killed Dewey, though. But besides that, there were many ways they could have passed the torch down and kept the series fresh.

Like using Kevin's original ending. A Scream 5 could have been about Jill being the target and the opening could have been at Sid's funeral.

Too bad Bob and Harvey killed any chance of that.

Dewey should have died back in Scream 2 and given his trio spot to Randy, but it's too late now. I'm not here for killing ANY of the trio off just because it'd be so obvious. Literally the #1 suggestion everywhere.

As for 4, the best thing about it was having the original characters reclaim the remake so... I'm good with Jill losing. Especially since Emma's acting was ****-levels of abysmal

Killing the trio off in a Scream 5 is the equivalent of killing the "final girl" mid film as a "shock". EVERYONE would be expecting it.

Huh? Offing the generic final girl in some random slasher is still kinda shocking as long as there isn't another blatantly obvious final girl to replace her (Friday remake)

tbh good they almost overdid it with the 4th, so this is good news.
